Art 1. Races

The Transléonarde event will take place on June 22 and 23, 2024. It concerns the organization of the Finistère Marathon for individuals and couples, the Shipwreckers Trail, walks events and children activities. This 22nd edition will be organized by the “La Transléonarde” association. A specific regulation for walks events is also published.. 

Art 2. Distances

Connecting Plouescat to Guissény, the distance of the Finistère marathon course is 26.219 miles. For the duo marathon, the relay passing takes place in Goulven after 12.12 miles.

Connecting the Meneham Village in Kerlouan to Guisseny, the distance of the Shipwreckers Trail route is 8.7 miles. 

Art 3. Participation

The Finistere Marathon for individual, duo and Shipreckers Trail events are open to licensed and non-licensed runners according to the age categories defined by the 2023-2024 official regulations for non-stadium races :

  •    * The individual Finistère Marathon event is open to licensed and non-licensed runners, born in 2004 or before..
  •    * The Duo Marathon event is open to licensed and non-licensed runners, born in 2006 or before..

  •    *The Shipwreckers Trail event is open to licensed and non-licensed runners, born in 2008 or before.

Age categories will result in a separate classification. Please note that checks will be carried out during the event to ensure perfect conditions of running. It is expressly stated that the runners participate in the competition under their own and exclusive responsibility..

Participation in sporting events organized or approved by sports federations is subject to the presentation of an FFA license or running pass, or, for non-licensees to whom these competitions are open, to the presentation of a certificate. medical certificate mentioning the non-contraindication to the practice of running in competition or its copy, which must date less than one year from the date of the race, therefore after June 23, 2023..  

Art 4. Refreshment points

 The marathon refreshment points are set up at the start, then every 5 km and at the finish line.  

Art 5. Time Limit

The time limit given to runners to complete the marathon is 5:30 hours. As a safety measure and for reasons of reopening to automobile traffic, the runners not having passed Goulven in 2:30 hours (Plouescat – Goulven = 12,12 miles) will be considered out of the race and will no longer be the responsibility of the Transléonarde.. 

Art 6. General Services

Security on the route is ensured by law enforcement, the Gendarmerie, the Police or the marshals and medical services. At the start, throughout the course and at the finish, the aid stations will be authorized to exclude any competitor appearing unfit to continue the event..

Art 7. Insurance

In accordance with the law, the organizers have taken out insurance covering the consequences of their civil liability, those of their employees and all participants in the Finistère Marathon.

Licensees benefit from the guarantees granted by the insurance linked to their license. It falls upon the other participants to personally insure themselves.

Art 8. Timing

Timing will be carried out by electronic system: all runners registered for the individual and duo marathon will receive an electronic chip. A ranking will be made of all the runners crossing the finish line in each of the following events (Solo Marathon, Duo Marathon and Shipwreckers Trail).

Art 9 : Commitment

Any commitment is firm and definitive.

The bib is individual, nominative and non-transferable.

Art 10: Registration Amounts

The registration amounts are:

  •    * for the Solo Marathon : GBP 28 / 32 euros before April 30, 2024 and GBP 35 / 40 euros after this date.

  •    * for the Duo marathon: GBP 32 / 36 euros per pair before April 30, 2024 and GBP 39 / 44 euros after this date.

  •    * for the Shipwreckers Trail: GBP 9 / 10 euros before April 30, 2024 and GBP 11 / 12 euros after this date..

  •    *for walks events : GBP 7 / 7 euros.

Art 11 : Rewards

11.1 - For the Finistère Solo Marathon race, the rewards are awarded to: :

­          * First postion in the categories: Junior and Handisport.

­          * First male and female positions of the categories grouped by age groups: Senior and M0, M1 and M2 (from 40 to 49 years old, formerly V1), M3 and M4 (from 50 to 59 years old, formerly V2), M5 and M6 (from 60 at 69 years old, formerly V3), M7 and M8 (from 70 to 79 years old, formerly V4), M9 and M10 (from 80 to 89 years old, formerly V5).

11.2 - For the Shipwreckers Trail, the rewards are awarded to:

­          * First male and female of the categories: Cadets, Juniors, Espoir, Handisport.

­          * First male and female of the categories grouped by age groups: Senior and M0, M1 and M2 (from 40 to 49 years old, formerly V1), M3 and M4 (from 50 to 59 years old, formerly V2), M5 and M6 (from 60 to 69 years old, formerly V3), M7 and M8 (from 70 to 79 years old, formerly V4), M9 and M10 (from 80 to 89 years old, formerly V5).

11.3 For the Finistère Marathon as a duo, the rewards are awarded to:

­          * First pairs of each category (Male, Female and Mixed)

Art 12 : Forces Majeure and cancellation of races

The association named  'La Transléonarde', organizer of the event, reserves the right to cancel the events for any reason that would put the life of the runner in danger or in the event of force majeure, in particular the COVID19 health crisis.

In this case the organizer undertakes to reimburse the participants for their registration fees (deduction of the amount of transaction fees)

Art 12 : Acceptance of the rules

All competitors acknowledge having read these regulations (appearing on the internet or available on request) and accepting all of their clauses. He (she) undertakes on his honor not to anticipate the start and to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line. The bib must be fully legible during the race.

Art 13 : Image rights :

Any runner to whom a bib is allocated authorizes the organization as well as its rights holders such as media and partners to use the still or audiovisual images taken during the event, without financial compensation, on all media including promotional documents. and advertising produced and distributed throughout the world and for the longest duration provided for by the law, regulations and treaties in force, including any extensions that could be added to this duration.

Article 14 – CNIL, GDPR and personal data

In accordance with the Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 as amended (known as the “Data Protection Act”) and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 (“GDPR”), data of a personal nature concerning participants in the Finistère Marathon (Solo and Duo races), in the Shipwreckers Trail and in the walks events, La Kerlouannaise and La Guissénienne are subject to computer processing by the Association La Transléonarde, acting as a data controller.

In general, the personal data that you communicate is intended for personnel authorized by the Organization, who are responsible for the processing of this data and for its possible subcontractors or suppliers. The organization collects this data for specific purposes to:

  •    * Allow the creation, management and access to your file.

  •    * Allow the processing, monitoring and management of your registration.

  •    * Send e-mails or publish messages in order to provide you with any useful information such as confirmation of your registration, La Transléonarde email campaigns, etc. ...

  •    * Send emails or SMS to provide you with information and announcements relating to the event.

  •    * Allow the promotion of our next editions.

  •    * Inform you of your results, communicate your diplomas.

  •    * Allow any other purpose specified during data collection.

This data is recorded in a database of the Association La Transléonarde and kept for a period of 3 years.

Anyone has a right of access, rectification, portability, erasure of their personal data or limitation of their processing, the right to object to the processing of their data for legitimate reasons and the right to withdraw his consent at any time. These rights may be exercised, subject, where applicable, to proof of the identity of the person concerned,

'La Transléonarde' is :


- The Marathon Race of Finistere : the notorious running event by the coast from Plouescat to Guisseny,
- The Marathon Race in Duo, 19.5 km ans 22.5 km-long distances, great way to enjoy a race with a friend, a family member, before attempting the Marathon all alone
- The Handisport sport event, 21 km-long : a true desire to open this sport for all
- The Shipwreckers' Trail Race, 13 km-long, a true trail event on beaches and walking paths all along the coast of 'la Côte des Légendes' from Kerlouan to Guisseny.  A technical track.
- 2 coastal walks, 12 km et 18 km-long ones, nice walks to discover the coast and some of the 'Côte des Légendes' astonishing scenery points

'La Transléonarde' is also :

- Entertaining sports games for kids on Saturday afternoon (free participation)
- An initiation to a sea walk, a 100% nature sport which enables an intense but soft muscular work (free participation)
- A guided visit of the Leon territory by bus - a great way to learn more about the area and the Marathon race path (on Saturday afternoon, free, on reservation, French comments only)

And 'La Transléonarde' is :

- The pasta party meal on Saturday night (14 euros / £13 - on reservation),
- The great free food and beverage supply on the finish line
- The after-race traditional meal 'Kig Ha Farz' (regional  meal - 14 euros  / £13- on reservation),

... and great entertainig activities and animations all along the different races !
